Special package

"Special Package"

It was a sunny day and I am all set. It was a new decision for me. There's no turning back. I just came home from Muscat, Oman. I was told that I needed to pick up a package somewhere in Manila. I had to contact a friend of mine so we can use his car and accompany me.

I heard the car horn and knew that my friend's already waiting for me outside. So I hurriedly dress up and went out. As I step into his car, there's a lot of mixed emotions.

I am not familiar of the place where I was picking up this "something." There was heavy traffic on the way and was getting really annoyed of it. So my friend turned up the volume of his car stereo, listening to 80's music. That somehow relieved the situation, being stuck in traffic.

As I arrive the area, we had to ask people of the exact address. The two of us know the place, but was unfamiliar. So I called the guy where I'm picking up the package. It was a narrow street somewhere in Manila and there's a lot of students roaming, since there was nearby school. We've waited for the guy to show up.

A guy around his mid 20's showed up and called my name. I said, "Yes?" I knew it was him. And so I followed him, leaving my friend behind the wheel. It was really hard to look for a parking spot. So, we've decided that one should stay in the car.

We arrived at guy's house and heard a lot of barking dogs. I saw the sign outside that says, "Licensed breeder." I was so amazed that they've managed to make room for this "thing" I'm picking up. The guy told me that he needed to take care of something and told me to wait for a few minutes.

My mind was really busy. "How am I going to take this thing home?" "Do I need some sort of special equipment to carry it?" All these questions are yet to be answered.

After ten minutes, the guy stepped outside of his house carrying a furry little creature. I didn't saw how it looked like yet, since he was carrying it with his back facing me. His other hand is holding a car vacuum cleaner, without the nozzle. I was wondering, "What is he going to do with that thing?"

"I hope you guys don't mind, but I already gave him a name," the guy explained. I replied, "It's alright."

And then for the first time, he asked me to carry the furry creature. From then on, I knew, he was the newest member of the family.
